By Linda Fridy, The PostSanta Cruz, CA — A tip from a concerned neighbor resulted in the rescue July 26 by Santa Cruz County Animal Services of 38 dogs and puppies from a Boulder Creek breeder who kept the animals penned in filthy crates. In many cases, the dogs did not have access to food or water, and in one case a dog was locked in an abandoned vehicle on the property.
